The greatest warmth
A blanket for all winters
Never tiring
How she sleeps
So soundly
Draped across me
Held so tight
I never dare
Squirm in the night
Although my sleep
Inevitably suffers
I fear the cold
If she would leave
For another
I lay awake
Often admiring her beauty
Unmistakable smell of her hair
Known only to me
The way her head nestles
So close against my chest
Ceiling fan whirring
The only other sound
Her soft little breaths
So beautiful she sleeps
Ever so soundly
